Social Scene: Tahoe City blossoms for Wine Walk

The walking traffic was a much-needed shot in the arm for Tahoe City's downtown businesses which are gearing up for a busy summer season. Winter business was hindered at times by massive snowfall. Many stores reported a nice uptick in sales. “The Wine Walk really boosts sales in the heart of Tahoe City,” explained Linda Bigelow, owner of Bluestone Jewelry. “Of all the events the TCDA does, this one is by far the best for me.” Kudos to the many wineries, restaurants, and food providers that donated to the fun event including Barry Callebaut Chocolate, The Blue Agave, Coffee Connexion, Christy Hill, Dockside 700, Evergreen, Fat Cat Caf�, Fire Sign Caf�, Jake's on the Lake North Shore Hawaiian Grill, Rosie's Caf�, Sawtooth Caf�, Spoon, Sunnyside Restaurant, Syd's Bagelry, Tahoe City Chocolates, Tahoma PDQ and Crystal Dairy, Uncommon Kitchen, West Shore Caf�, and Wolfdale's. Wineries and spirits were provided by Arbios Cellars /Praxis Cellars, Avanguardia Wines, Blue Agave Tequila Tasting, Beam Global Whiskey, Buckbean Brewing Company, Canard Vineyard, Cupcake Vineyards, Fawnridge Winery, Hatcher Winery, Joel Gott Wines, Lone Buffalo Vineyards, Loxton Winery, Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery, Madro�a Vineyards, Perry Creek Winery, Rancho Roble Vineyards, Robert Mondavi, Sean Minor, Segura Viudas, Sierra Vista Winery, Simi Winery, Single Leaf, Truckee River Winery, Twisted Rivers Wines, Wente Family Estates, Wilderotter Vineyard, and Montevi�a Winery. Some of those spotted sampling tasty tidbits and sipping great wines included Jo and Jim Smith, Linda and Peter Morris, Robin Dworkin, Sandy Evans Hall, Dave Wilderotter, Vicki and Neil Johnson, Sarah and Rich Wilde, Sally Taylor, Meg DeVre, Amber and Alex Barrett, Melissa Molyneaux and Brian Pick, Sheri and Chris Thibaut, and Skylo Dangler. Some of those lending a helping hand were Sandy Tomlinson, Dianne Shontz, Danny Brolliar, Vicki Brown, Deed Veruti, Stephanie Mears, Lisa Fox, Kimberly Lopez, Gary Davis, Cathy Dangler. This first-time ever, on the beach, elegant evening will start with passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a four- course dinner featuring the best farmers market produce prepared by Chefs Douglas Dale of Wolfdales, David Lutz of Evergreen, Scott Yorkie of Jake's and Andrew Schimer of Christy Hill complemented by wines from local Foothull vintners with music by “After Eights.
